Wicklow Local Community Broadcasting (WLCB) was previously known as Wicklow Community Radio.
Wicklow Community Radio started life as a festival station, Wicklow Regatta Radio, in Summer 1982. The station, which broadcast on 1512kHz from 1 Wentworth Place, operated with a true community ethos with training and facilities to enable training of high importance. The station owner was Leo Doyle.
In summer 1985, with a larger transmitter now on 1602kHz, they changed name to Wicklow Local Community Broadcasting.
The station had by now also become a commercially-run professional operation.
A change of ownership led to a further change of name in June 1987 to Viking 105.
