Radio Pandora began official programming on July 24th 1977 on 227metres with 20watts of power. It was run by the same three men who had set up ARD and was on air whilst ARD was also broadcasting. It developed out of mistrust for Dr Don, who had come on board at ARD after a split from Radio Dublin, and had persuaded them to relocate the station to his home in Cabra.
As an aside, a famous TV programme called Soap also started around this time – anyone who ever seen it would get the reference to the pirate scene in Dublin at this time!
