Radio Milinda was a Dublin station which broadcast on 300 metres MW. The frst broadcast was September 9th 1972 at 11am from their basement location at Gloucester Place.
Broadcasts were nightly from 00:30 – 03.30 and Sundays from 9am-3pm. Theirs was the first attempt by a radio station to provide a community-type service, which included Mass read by a local priest.
It was the very first pirate station in the state to be raided and prosecuted. The raid took place on December 17th 1972 with the court case taking place on February 3rd 1973.
Each of the seven personnel arrested on the day were fined £2 and all their equipment was confiscated.
