Radio Dublin Channel 2

Radio Dublin Channel 2 started with test transmissions on Saturday, April 4th 1980 on 90.2MHz1, later joined by a medium wave channel of 235metres. FM power at launch was 30w.
Channel 2 was designed to give an outlet to specialist programmes such as classical music, country music, current affairs etc. In its early days it was a weekend only station, broadcasting for four hours on Saturdays and four on Sunday, before migrating into an evening time all week channel.
