Radio Donegal was a pirate station based near Letterkenny which commenced tests in April 1980, launching on April 22nd. It was the first pirate station to broadcast in Co Donegal.
A group of four local businessmen were behind the venture which was on air from 8am to 1am daily. The station covered a wide variety of music as well as running items of local interest.
They closed in September 1981.
