Pure FM were a short-lived dance music station who first appeared (unidentified) on 98.4MHz in Dublin for a short period early in 2002. In June, the station launched on 96.0MHz.

The following station biog was provided by station owner Steve Reilly in January 2003:

Pure FM was launched on Saturday 16th of February 2002. We were located in a purpose-built studio on the southside of Dublin. Our original music format was going to be dance & r’n’b, but after Kiss FM changed their format from Hard House to Dance, I spotted a gap in the market, so got my hands on some of Dublin’s finest in the Hard House industry, including: Fabio, Ian Walker, Thomas Bonnie, Robbie C, Max Tailwind, Gar Hogan, John Kerrigan, J Brady, and a host of other djs, including myself.

We had a full schedule by the launch date, with live programming 7 days a week. After about 2 weeks of hard marketing we were getting 70-100 txt messages on the prime-time shows. We broadcast using a 130w tx, but it was short lived. On July 9th 2002 at 3am we were raided under false accusations that we were using stolen property. All equipment was returned.

I have a new station now in Newbridge called Pure FM.
