NLR commenced live broadcasts to Dublin on February 28th 2014, following some tests. The station played mainly Reggae and dub music at first but after a few weeks introduced hardcore dance and techno to the schedules.
NLR broadcast mainly at weekends but also some weekday evenings.
They were off air for prolonged periods a couple of times in the first half of 2015 for studio upgrades but a break in transmission in October 2015 was down to a raid on their mountain site.
They returned on the 15th with the following social media message:-
“We are back on air people. Our mountain site got raided by the Babylon, but them no keep us down.” [sic]
In May 2017 the station rebranded to Chill FM widening their scope of music style.
