Cork pirate station Leeside Radio, on 101.5MHz FM, was run by Eric Young. It was a station which had emerged at the end of 1985, tests starting on December 22nd. They started off in the North Mall in Cork city before moving to Shandon Street.
In the middle of 1986 it was decided to close Leeside Radio and in its place launch a new station which would be run on a more commercial basis. So, in July 1986, Leeside closed, and some days later Cork’s Centre Radio appeared, also on 101.5 FM, though was later to move frequency slightly to 101.0 FM.
Address was 4 North Mall
