GOLD FM

Gold FM was born on the first of May 2000 and operated as a part-time weekend service on 87.6FM, sharing frequency space with Beat FM – both under the umbrella of ABC 94FM. It was non-stop, commercial-free music with no presenter interruptions.

With the decision to drop Beat FM, Gold FM launched as a full-time service at 7pm on the sixth of November 2000. The station’s mix of fifties, sixties, seventies and eighties proved popular with those Dubliners who could hear the low-powered station which also regularly suffered with equipment problems.
