Freak FM were a long-running Alternative music pirate station, originally broadcasting on 107.6MHz, then 105.2MHz from the Mallow area of Cork. In the beginning they operated out of a garden shed in Canon Sheehan Place for two hours a night, 4 nights a week.

In February 2001 they moved to Cork city and went on to broadcast worldwide via the internet.
