Energy Radio launched on October 1st 1994 from Navan in Co Meath. Playing chart music on 99.2MHz, it ran from 6pm to midnight for six months before introducing 24 hour transmissions. A relay was also introduced on 105.2MHz for the west of the county.
The station, which was run by Greg Parke, claims to be the first unlicensed station outside Dublin to use mini-disc for advertisements and music.
