Downtown Radio first appeared in August 1977 broadcasting from the Ballyfermot area in west Dublin. Broadcasts were originally from the home of presenter Alan Jackson but from January 1978 they had moved to Walkinstown from where they were on air on Wednesdays, Fridays and at weekends.
They broadcast until 1982.
