City Centre Radio first appeared late in 1984 playing pop music and was located on Roches Street in a building with an all-glass front so that the station could be seen from outside.
Although it could be heard on 1611kHz in mid 1985 for much of its existence there was no medium wave signal.
Will Leahy started his career at this station and Ger Bradshaw and Ger Sweeney were other names associated with it.
It closed on May 25th 1987.
