FAVOURITES AND FUN ON 231
Carlow Local Radio broadcast from Castle Hill in Keelogue, Killesin in Carlow. It first appeared on March 9th 1986 on 1359kHz. It was operated by the Griffin family, specifically two brothers. After a falling out Carlow Community Radio was launched in 1987 with Eric Griffin continuing to run CLR. The station continued through to the afternoon of December 30th 1988; at this point new legislation forced the country’s pirates off the air. At the time of closure the station was broadcasting on 99.3FM and 1231kHz.
