Blanchardstown Community Radio was a pirate station which first appeared on August 7th 1983.
BCR was set up by Mike Ryan, using his studio gear and Jimmy Smith, using a rig from Treble TR.
The station was based above Justin’s shop on Main Street, Blanchardstown. It broadcast on 240m MW.
After a period off the air it returned with Sunday afternoon tests for a number of weeks from around mid-November. It stopped broadcasting altogether in January 1985 when the rig went on fire.
