Midlands 103 broadcasts to the three central counties of Laois, Offaly, and Westmeath. It launched in 1990 as Midlands Radio 3 and operates from its main headquarters in Tullamore, County Offaly.
Midlands 103 is a licensed radio station serving three counties in the midland area of the country: Laois, Offaly and Westmeath. It was born on September 7th 1990 during the new licensed era that followed the closedown of the pirates in December 1988. It was originally known as Radio 3, then Midlands Radio 3.
The station’s main studio is in Tullamore, Co Offaly with other studios based in Athlone and Mullingar. It has also ran a service specifically for the Westmeath area called Midlands Gold.
