Longford Community Radio
Longford Community Radio first appeared at 9am on May 6th 1985 playing Irish and American Country Music along with lots of features on 1071kHz. Station manager Michael Bermingham opened proceedings, promising music for fifteen hours every day. With the backing of owner Noel Cassidy, the aim was to provide a top-notch community service stretching beyond the borders of Longford, into the central counties.
