Dreamtime Radio

Dreamtime Radio is a campus based FM service for SOS Dreamtime and is licensed by the BAI. The station is operated entirely by presenters and content creators with intellectual disabilities and autism. Dreamtime Radio aims to develop the skills of the people involved, offering experience of running a radio station, stimulate creativity, provide and promote education and learning in the many areas of radio broadcasting. It reflects the community at SOS Kilkenny and promotes social inclusion while also providing music, news, entertainment to people on campus and to the wider community. Programming comprises of a mix of music request shows, chat shows, news and event guides, local interviews and lots more and runs from 10am to 4pm on weekdays, broadcasting locally on 90.9MHz.

Dreamtime Radio was first conceived in 2009 and had a successful temporary licensed run in 2010 which led to the award of a five year licence in 2012, original broadcasting hours were 10am - 4pm, Wednesdays - Fridays. The shows were live for the most part but some were pre-recorded often to facilitate large speech programmes and for DJs who find live broadcasts difficult.

There are daily news bulletins which are pre-recorded each morning and played on the hour throughout the day.
