Caroline 98 | Radiowaves Station Database

Caroline 98 was a weekend-only service which shared a frequency with Radio Zodiac, who ran from Mondays to Thursdays. The dual service launched in June 1986. Radio Zodiac was a relaunch of a station which had stopped broadcasting in April 1985 and had merged with Castle K FM to become BFBS, also weekend-only. When BFBS stopped broadcasting it reemerged as Caroline 98. At launch it had ambitious plans to have an all female line up. Unfortunately, this didn’t happen.

March 1984: Castle K FM launch
June 1984: Radio Zodiac launch
December 1984: Castle K FM change name to BFBS
March 1985: Radio Zodiac join with BFBS
June 1986: Radio Zodiac relaunch and share time with Caroline 98, a relaunch of BFBS
